Amilton Neves Cuna is a Mozambican photographer who won the 2018 Portfolio Prize at the Palm Springs Photo Festival and was shortlisted for the Contemporary African Photography (CAP) Prize for his project Madrinhas de Guerra (Godmothers of War).  He tells the story of the Mozambican women who took part in the Portuguese colonial forces' campaign from 1961 until the 1974 revolution. Madrinhas de Guerra were ostracized within Mozambican society for their role in supporting the colonial forces.
